Saudi Arabia has led a quiet campaign during climate talks at the U.N. demanding, behind closed doors, that oil-producing nations get special financial assistance if a new climate pact calls for substantial reductions in the use of fossil fuels. One of the richest countries in the world asking for financial aid; you couldn’t make this stuff up.
